Bathed in Prayer and Birthed by Providence
Through the “gospel partnership” of Crosspoint Church of Clemson and The Bridge Church of Anderson, Renewal Church of Anderson began on June 1, 2014, as a new church plant with the mission of “making disciples of all people for God’s glory.”
In the fall of 2013, the elders and leaders of Crosspoint Church and The Bridge Church began exploring through conversation and prayer whether God was leading the two churches to enter a “gospel partnership” and begin a new church in Anderson. In January of 2014, the elders and leaders of both churches agreed to a “Better Together” document outlining steps forward in a partnership to begin a new church. During the spring, both churches unanimously affirmed the “gospel partnership” to plant a new church with Stephen Watson serving as Lead Pastor.
Throughout the spring months, by God’s grace a core group of families and leaders from Crosspoint committed to joining the core group of church members from The Bridge Church to begin this new work.
With much anticipation and joy, Renewal Church of Anderson began on June 1, 2014. Bryan Cribb, Chuck Fuller, Barry Kaldenbach, Tim McKnight and Stephen Watson began serving as elders at Renewal Church. As Chuck Fuller so appropriately stated, we are a church “bathed in prayer and birthed by providence.”
